Chilling Out in Fiji – BULA!
In 2013, I got an invite from my lovely friends Ben & Hana to join them for a 10 day family holiday in Fiji with their 18month old son Spencer. I don’t usually do resort holidays… I’m not fussed about sitting around relaxing. But this was one exception. I had just had surgery a few weeks earlier, and Fiji’s sun, swimming and good company was just what the doctor ordered.
Most of the holiday was spent enjoying the pool and walks around Sheraton resort on Denaru. The walking and pool time was incredibly relaxing and helped my recovery too.
Let’s be honest, it wasn’t all lying around by the pool. We certainly got busy with trying out the local watering holes and testing out the local brews and food. Who could pass up a triple shot Bounty Rum!
Towards the end of the trip, once I was a bit stronger, we ventured out on a day trip out to a small island & reef for some snorkelling and more lazing in water… this time of the salt kind.
This was one of those memorable trips, not so much for the destination, but for the memories shared with my special friends. This trip will always have a special place in my heart.
