Solitude in Hong Kong – Central Plaza 46th Floor
If you ever find yourself in Hong Kong, needing some space away from the crowds and noise of the city, then I have the perfect place for you. A friend I met in my dorm room found out about this place somehow, and it is a place that I highly recommend.
The 46th floor of the Central Plaza Building on Hong Kong Island is a completely empty floor. There’s no furniture, no music, no souvenir shop, no tour groups, and when I went, no people either. It is free to visit, and has amazing views of Hong Kong.
It was the solitude of the experience that impacted me the most. In the months I’ve been travelling, I don’t think I’ve ever actually been alone. I mean, there’s always been people around. But on the 46th floor of this building, in a busy city, I was completely alone. It was quite incredible.
