Hi!
My name is Lara and I’m from Melbourne, Australia. Lately I’ve been wanting to do something different in addition to my usual 9-5, so I’ve decided to start writing (or just posting pics when I’m feeling lazy) about the things that I’m interested in.
My passions mostly revolve around travel, food, outdoorsy adventures, and living a simple life focused on people. So, this is my blog where I’ll share some of the things that are on my mind.
Firstly, my travel plans… what can I say. I’ve always loved travel. I did a big trip through Africa, Europe, UK and Thailand in my early twenties. Then I had a long time with no travel. So for the past few years, I’ve been making up for it and have had various trips including Fiji, Malaysia, several trips to New Zealand, Las Vegas, some Australia travel, and an amazing trip to Cambodia and Laos. I’ve met incredible people and had unforgettable experience, and now I’m hooked. I’m constantly adding to the trip list with next year (2017) including a 5 month solo trip through Asia. Obviously I’m a little excited about this trip. Plus I get a little nerdy when it comes to travel gear and packing (no kidding genius… not half obvious is it?).
I think I love planning for a trip just as much as travelling itself. Okay maybe not the same, but close. And when I say planning, it’s not so much the research on places… I like to leave most of that to when I’m there. Rather, it’s the gear and finding out about tips and tricks that I can use when I travel. And I love to do a practice pack. Okay, so I’m a packing nerd!! And I love it!! So, I thought I’d share some of the things I’ve found.
When I’m at home, I love to get outdoors with my dog (and various other friends and their dogs). I’ve built my life around activities such as kayaking, bush walking, and getting out to so many of Melbourne’s great festivals and markets. Which brings me to my next passion… FOOOOOOOD! Okay… so actually it’s mostly about dumplings. My favourite thing to do around Melbourne is try out a new dumpling place… I’m always on the hunt for a good one. There’s more to my foodie story, but you can read that in my post about life after allergies.
I hope you enjoy my blog, and if you have any suggestions, please feel free to contact me.
